Ministry Experience

I have served as a Senior Pastor in four churches since 2007 in Johnson City, TN, Little Rock, AR, Hodgenville, KY and Oneonta, AL. Currently, I am the Senior Pastor at Union Hill Baptist Church in Oneonta, AL. Before serving as a Senior Pastor, I ministered on several staffs in various roles over six years. I have served in the areas of educational ministries, children’s ministry, youth ministry, and recreation ministry. The experience has provided a variety of opportunities and experiences to serve the Kingdom of God.

Three Significant Emphasis in My Ministry

  1. Preaching the Word of God - I believe in the proclamation of the Word of God. The art of preaching is not based on one’s craftiness with words or the declaration of one’s opinions. Instead, the preaching of the Word of God rest on the foundation of declaring the truth that comes from the Bible. The base of the proclamation of God’s Word must rest on “Thus says the Lord” and not on “What I Think.”

  2. Evangelism - I believe that every believer is called to the practice of evangelism. Evangelism is not limited to a program, event, or gathering, but must consist of intentional daily pursuit of sharing Jesus with those in need of a relationship with Christ. I strive to model personal evangelism in my life and aid in training others for the task of evangelism.

  3. Discipleship - I believe that the moment of salvation is a starting point in one’s relationship with the Lord. I believe that the Word of God calls believers to a life of discipleship that facilitates growth in one’s relationship with Jesus. I believe that discipleship occurs in various forms such as individual engagement with the Lord, the use of spiritual disciplines, mentoring relationships, and small groups.

The Purpose of “Equipping Faith”

Equipping Faith exists to encourage and promote the spiritual development of believers. The use of articles, sermons, blogs, bible studies, podcast, and other media will be used as catalyst. The desire is to see the faithful equipped for the work of the ministry of the Kingdom of God.
