Restored By Grace
The God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, establish, strengthen, and support you after you have suffered a little while.
1 Peter 5:10 (CSB)
We do not deserve salvation; we deserve death. Yet, by God’s grace, we receive the ability to be restored to a relationship with the Lord. Grace is the gift God offers us that we do not deserve. It works in harmony with mercy because God withholds the punishment we deserve. When we consider God’s grace, we must recognize the effects of the restoration that comes because of this grace.
EFFECTS OF RESTORATION BY GRACE
God will restore.
God, in grace, restores us. The restoration occurs in the creation of the new self and the preparation for eternity. The restoration is never earned but is extended as an underserved gift from the Lord.
God will establish.
God, in grace, establishes us. The concept of establish means that in Christ we gain a firm foundation. In the state of sin people live with a flimsy foundation that cannot withstand the pressures and storms to this world. In Christ, believer become established with a firm foundation to withstand the pressures and storms of this life.
God will strengthen.
God, in grace, provides the strength to withstand the trials and tribulations of this life. The strength provided covers the mental, emotional, and phyisical realms of life. He provides us with a strong heart to continue on in faithfulness and to learn how to walk in life with complete trust in him.
God will support.
As God restores the believer, he establishes them on a firm foundation and gives them the needed strength to remain faithful. These gifts of grace reveal the nature of the Lord to provide the needed support for the believer as they navigate every component of life.

Why do we lessen God’s grace?
Though grace is hard to understand, how does restoration, establishing, strengthening, and supporting point to the grace of God?
