The All-Wise Father
Now to Him who has power to strengthen you according to my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the sacred secret kept silent for long ages, but now revealed and made known through the prophetic Scriptures, according to the command of the eternal God, to advance the obedience of faith among all nations–to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ–to Him be the glory forever! Amen.
Romans 16:25-27 (CSB)
Wisdom is the ability to discern and judge what is right, just, true, and enduring. God embodies wisdom because the Father defines what is right, what is just, what is true, and what is lasting. No wisdom exists apart from the Lord, and true wisdom comes solely from Him. The Father is the source of wisdom and desires for His children to experience His wisdom.
God is the source of all wisdom. No wisdom exists apart from the Lord. Knowledge and wisdom are not the same. You may possess knowledge about something and have the information, yet lack the wisdom to apply it righteously, morally, ethically, and justly. The ability to discern proper usage stems from wisdom, not knowledge. The Father is the source of wisdom because He has defined righteousness, justice, and truth.
God is the source of all wisdom. The Father alone is the one who imparts wisdom. Without this gift of wisdom, humanity is plagued by the consequences of sin. People strive to live for themselves and act in the flesh with injustice, unrighteousness, and self-justified beliefs. Solomon is a prime example of how wisdom comes from the Lord alone. He demonstrated divine wisdom from the Father as he made judgments like the two women who approached the child. We must seek to find such wisdom from the Father alone.
God wants us to seek Him for wisdom. The Lord allowed Solomon to request anything he desired, and Solomon chose wisdom. He understood that wisdom comes solely from the Father. When interpreting dreams, Daniel sought the Lord for guidance, aware that true wisdom originates from Him. This act of seeking exemplified the ongoing necessity for us to pursue the Father's wisdom today. The wisdom of the Lord remains constant—what was true yesterday is true today and will be tomorrow.
